Must Read

For most men approaching 40, hair loss can be a real concern. Over 65% of men will experience some form of hair loss by the age of 40, and, without a cure, it’s a problem that’s not about to go away any time soon.

Now, just because there isn’t a cure for baldness, it’s not actually all doom and gloom, thankfully. There are ways in which baldness can be treated, resulting in a slowing down of hair fall, and stimulation of hair regrowth.

However, treating hair loss can be quite complicated, as results will always vary from person to person, so it is absolutely vital that you choose the right treatment plan that works for you, individually.

How To Stop Hair Loss

In this post, We’ll go through five key products that you can use in order to slow down your receding hairline. For the sake of your health, We’ve chosen to stay away from prescription drugs like finasteride.

While finasteride isn’t guaranteed to give you those nasty side effects, We don’t want to risk it, neither do we particularly want you to be putting drugs into your body.

1. Nizoral Shampoo (ketoconazole)

Nizoral contains ketoconazole that works deep into the scalp, and while it is most frequently used for its antifungal properties to treat infections or conditions like seborrheic dermatitis, there is anecdotal evidence indicating that it may also help promote hair growth or reduce hair loss.

You can use this shampoo up to two times a week. Apply a small amount, lather in well, leave in for around 5-6 minutes, and then wash out. If you use this in conjunction with the other four products listed in this article, it will help halt your shedding and stimulate hair growth.

2. Kirkland Minoxidil Foam 2%

Next up is Minoxidil, more commonly branded as Regaine/Rogaine, which is the only topical treatment for hair loss that is medically approved.

Minoxidil can help stop hair loss in its tracks, and in some cases, it can even help regrow new hair. It’s advised that for people whose main area of hair loss is at the frontal hairline, they should only be applying the minoxidil in and around that area of their scalp. It should be applied twice a day, once in the morning, and once at night. The foam is usually more preferable, rather than the liquid, because it dries instantly.

3. Micro-needling

While used as an anti-ageing skin treatment, micro-needling may also be a method of treatment for hair loss. There’s even evidence that it can help a special type of hair loss known as alopecia areata. The same process of creating wounds in the skin is also thought to regenerate the health of the hair follicles.

I’ve seen a bunch of guys on the internet trying the micro-needling technique on their heads, along with minoxidil, and the hair growth results have been quite extraordinary. In order to see results in the shortest possible time, you can use the micro-needling device, the derma roller, in conjunction with the minoxidil. Micro-needling should be done at most once a week, with a 1.5mm derma stamp. If you choose to go for a 0.5mm micro-needling device, then you may have to use it twice a week.

4. Multi-Vitamin Supplement

Multi-vitamin supplements are an absolutely vital part of a good hair care routine.  Multi-vitamin supplements can help prevent excess hair fall, and promote the healthy function of hair growth.

HR23+ hair supplement is one of the market leaders in this space. Although supplements and vitamins will not cure baldness, they can offer you a safe alternative to finasteride, so you won’t ever have to compromise on your health and wellbeing.

5. Biotin & Collagen Shampoo

Finally, you should use Biotin & Collagen Shampoo by OGX. Shampoos do not treat hair loss to any great effect, but they do offer you a good healthy hair solution, particularly when used in conjunction with more potent treatments like minoxidil.

This shampoo lathers wonderfully well and helps to thicken and strengthen the strands. If you’re looking to get a bit of volume in your hair, then be sure to use this shampoo 2-3 times a week.
