The Honourable Minister of Information and Culture, Mr Lai Mohammed, disclosed at the briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Abuja, that President Muhammadu Buhari had a telephone conversation with the President of the United States, Donald Trump.
He stated that the conversation between both presidents was about Nigeria’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the steps the government has taken to tackle the coronavirus.
Mohammed said, The American President assured President Buhari that the United States stands in solidarity with Nigeria in this difficult time and promised to send ventilators to support the country in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, The United states, on the other hand, has recorded over a million confirmed cases of infection with about 58,000 deaths, as reported by the John Hopkins coronavirus resource centre.
Ending his address he added, “President Trump also extends his best regards to the people of Nigeria.”
